Twenty Years of Photography by Jeff Schneider
Gallery Receptions: Friday, October 28 · 6 PM-8 PM
Saturday, October 29 · Noon – 8 PM
Bellevue, PA October 28, 2016- The Artists’ Gallery is pleased to continue the Artists’ Gallery Weekend Event Series with “America Squared!” featuring Jeff Schneider, a local artist.
For the past 20 years armed with his beloved Mamiya 6 medium format film camera, Jeff Schneider has traveled from New York to Los Angeles and points in between photographing the ridiculous and sublime.
“It is a labor of love. This country is so diverse you never know what just might be around the corner. From strange arcana to glorious landscapes to arresting cityscapes to interesting human characters, the USA can’t be beat!”
“When traveling, the Mamiya is my go to camera. It’s a quiet, reliable workhorse that produces an extremely sharp 2 ¼ x 2 ¼ inch negative.”
The photographs in this retrospective are square because the negative is square. Each photograph is 10 inches by 10 inches, printed in a wet darkroom on fiber based, silver paper and selenium toned for archival permanence.
